France inaugurated the world's first solar route

  • France inaugurated the world's first solar route

On December 22 last France inaugurated the first solar road in the world in Normandy, in Tourouvre-au-Perche west of Paris. This solar route corresponds to a complete kilometer with 2,800 square meters of solar panels.

The road could support 2,000 vehicles a day and give power to the public street lighting of the town, which has more than 3,000 inhabitants.

The solar panels are covered by a resin of sheets of silicon, which allow to support the weight and generate electricity.

Chinese scientists create solar panels that work with rain or fog

"The aim is to increase the conversion efficiency of direct light until there is more, generating enough energy in low light conditions such as rain, fog, fog or at night," Professor Tang Qunwei of The Oceanic University of China, one of the project leaders. Another team led by Professor Yang Peizhi of the Yunnan Pedagogical University is also involved in the development of these solar panels, which according to official Chinese press may be a "photovoltaic revolution."
